EFFECT OF ULTRASONIC VIBRATION ON MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF ADC12 ALUMINUM ALLOY BY PERMANENT MOLD CASTING

In this study, the effect of ultrasonic vibration on mold filling ability, microstructure, and mechanical properties aluminum alloy during solidification is investigated. Microstructure were compared with casting without ultrasonic. Grain refinement an increase in obtained due to vibration. The material used for research was ADC12 alloy, frequency 20 kHz. carried out SKD11 steel molds. It found that vibrated has less porosity , fine grain improvement as Where tensile strength increased by about 20% at 660oC 9% 700oC while hardness changed insignificantly.
